The weekend started on Wed, with a marathon packing session till 2am in the morning. And following a 4hr flight to Clark airport and a long long bus ride to Manila proper we got to the serviced apartment where we were staying. And walked around to the main shopping area in Makati. Ate some funny meal at the Landmark mall. And Simon bought 4 shot glasses for like 1 sgd. Oh yes things in Manila are cheap. Very cheap. Dresses for S$70? Check. Even the full length prom ones were only 10 bucks more. Cab rides for less than 10. Pasta buffet for 5 bucks. Woohoo! It wasn’t even worth waiting around for change. Anyway.
The next day, went to the Intramuros area to sight-see.
Ok shall put things in point form. This is too much.
Sight see. Glad Singapore has no gum ban coz I stepped on a piece and that wasn’t nice. Went to the mall. Tried nicer Pinoy food. Went back to hotel to find a tired Simon who played Opens. (He was so exhausted that he face-planted on his search for food.) Went for registration party. And went back early to sleep for the next day’s games!
1st: Vudoo. Lost on universal. Don’t ask. Was embarassing. 8-7
2nd: Cherifer. Crushed them 11-1
3rd: Black Flag. Lost. (Duhhhhhh!) they were clearly the team to beat. Solid line made of players who played UPA club and college. It was tough. 11-6
4th: Kunt. Mostly expat team. Was nice to meet Woody and Koby again. 
Beat them 11-8. ALMOST got my layout d! 
Almost. Will try again.
So ended day 1. Surprising we were still seeded 2nd despite the lost to Vudoo. Turns out Cherifer has beaten them. And point differences put us on top. And probably due to the fact that Eddie was not gonna play and going for church instead of Dave jensen who decided to play on Sunday :p Well. Wih luck on our side we were set th plat pre-quarters against Team Philipinas the next day.
9am. Showdown against top seed of the tourney. It was a tight tight game. Unfortunately we lost on universal. It was not not pleasant to go up and let them pull te score close. What more we were starting on O for the last point so we definitely could have punched it in to win that game. But games like that can go either ways as always. And you win some and you lose some.
11am. Game against HK Junk. We won this one. Was a heavily contested game though. Lots of calls everywhere. Not too fantastic of a game.
2pm. Sizzleeeee. Universal point game again. Unlike the last 2 universal point games, we got this one! To win and improve our seed from 6th to 5th!
Then was the finals to watch. Shion basically got steamrolled by Black Flag. Sad to say but that was the truth. But watching Black Flag play was pretty darn cool.
Other than the games… Hi to Kristin Grant Woody Koby Erik Jin and all the other nice ultimate ppl. I like big tourneys, it’s like big gatherings of cool funky ppl. And always u meet new friends and stuff.
Highlight of da day. Got my Black Flag jersey! From the lovely Carmen Tong! And got a Korean one and a boracay one. Yah yah yah! New shirts to wear! And bright purple shorts too.
Manila was so fun!!!!!! I already miss it.
