Another weekend gone by. My last weekend in Europe actually. I really really don’t want to leave Europe.
Okay instead of whining about the bad bits about missing Europe, lets introduce adventure of this weekend. RedHat 2008, Sarnen, Switzerland. It was my 1st and last: Hat tournament, Switerland tournament.
Shall cut it short, coz I am really tired now. But highlights: Awesome people, glad to see some people I know and meet new people too. The amazing thing I found about this tournament, is that it seems that there are no younger people. I would say that most of them were mid-twenties and above. Which is a real difference for me, since in SG and also playing with Innsiders, I am always the older one. And so, it was strange going to a tournament where almost everyone has played 2 million years, and I am one of the few with really little experience. And so, it was slightly tough for me during the weekend on account of everyone being more experienced player than me and knew the flow. Guess I just have to keep working on playing!
Well, results wise, I guess my team didn’t do too well. Actually crap as a matter of fact. We had one sole victory and that was it. And hence, we ended up last. But it was still lots of fun. There were some games which worked really well and some games which were crap. But for a team of people who have never played together before, I guess that that is normal.
And of course, RedHat being such a party tournament, it was really just amazing to see everyone go without sleep and just party through the night. And also there was this guy with his Rum Fahrt Rund cart, something of like a cocktail-mobil, and that was so funny, coz he would wheel it around and make drinks all the time. And of course no one resisted, even though they might be playing games at that moment of time. I had a good time at the parties. Gonna be interesting to see how Singapore Open parties are like.
So that kinda was a really short version of what happened during the weekend. I shall go snooze now. Way too tired from 3 non-stop days of tournaments and parties. Hip Hip Hurray for the awesome organizers who put up such an amazing tourna, ent. And one day, one day in the future, I will be back for another ReHat!
