Yesterday, the Euro 2008, or according to the Austrians, the EuroMeisterschaft started. Its kinda strange, but Innsbruck is silent. Its hosting Sweden, Spain and Russia. But considering that Austria IS the host, streets are really quiet. Not much soccer fever around. There are more people on the streets doing their own things, than people parading around waving flags. One problem I guess, is that the main viewing area in Innsbruck is tiny. I mean really tiny. Like its smaller than a quarter of a soccer field. Which means, not that many fans can be around. I guess most of them head to the Bergeisel, so maybe I should head there one day.
But anyway, I am glad Germany won their first game! And scored more than once too! I think they should be able to win their pool, Croatia and Austria should be no problem after Poland. I am so looking forward to the Austrian-German match. That one should be really cool.
