Just got back from a 2 day excursion to Mautausen and Obersalzburg. It wasn’t fun. It was rather boring actually. Mautausen was interesting for me personally, coz it was a concentration camp. One of the worst I think. And to see the brutality of the Holocaust is always a wake-up call to how power can be misused. And the reality of something like that happening is very real. Obersalzburg was not at all interesting. We went to the so called Eagle’s Nest, where Hitler had his 50th birthday present, a holiday home for him from the Nazis. It was impressive. But ultimately, all that we saw, I saw no link to the course, neither do I see the main point of the course. So basically, I am wasting time and money on something that wasn’t really interesting. Makes me sad, when I could be playing beach in Belgium, or one of the many tournaments this weekend in Germany, or the hat tournament in France or Cork, Ireland.
Just watched CSTV’s broadcast of the UPA championships. Strange thing to be watching huh? Especially when the Euro is going on, and the city is supposed to be really excited about all the games and stuff. But Ultimate is so much more exciting, and it was interesting to see their play. All I can say was the Hodags really deserved to win, Florida just couldn’t find enough energy after going down a couple points. And UBC was just awesome to come back with a 9 point streak. And UCSB fought hard but that 9 point lead was too much and UBC won. But compared to the UCSB last year, this year’s line was a lot better, working well against the UBC zone. Unfortunately, they couldn’t capitalize on the numerous turnovers (something they did pretty well in the 1st half, but didn’t in the 2nd half). And it was in the 2nd half that UBC cut down on their turnovers too, so UCSB had to go home without the Championships for the 2nd year running.
I want to go onto the field and huck now.
